The personnel at the CNETE is using both the BioAnalyst and the BiOptic+ to increase the automation of bioprocess monitoring, of data capture, and of real-time advanced data analysis. The BioAnalyst is an interconnectivity hub with real-time analytics package to increase performances of fermentation and cell culture bioprocesses. It fits actual processes requiring no modification and can be installed and ongoing within a day. The BiOptic+ is a “super-probe” (an inline intelligent spectrometer) capable of monitoring different process variables simultaneously (such as product & nutrients concentrations, pH, etc.). Using its embedded advanced spectroscopic analysis and automated modeling software, any user can easily calibrate the BiOptic+ for the monitoring of their key variables.

Having these instruments enables the scientists:

• to reduce time spent on sampling and on data management,
• to have a real-time monitoring of fermentation, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without the requirement of having personnel around, and
• to provide real-time access to fermentation data for their industrial partners through an embedded distant access.
